The Slovak-made diagnostic kit, vDetect COVID-19 RT-qPCR, was created thanks to cooperation between scientists from MultiplexDX, the Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Comenius University Science Park in Bratislava, ProScience Tech and Lambda Life.
The first 100,000 kits produced were donated to the Slovak Republic.
The quantitative in vitro diagnostic test is designed to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus genetic information via RT-qPCR in body fluid samples taken primarily from the upper respiratory tract. The kit is intended for use in diagnostic laboratories only. It is certified by the (Slovak) State Institute for Drug Control.
ManualA shipment of 50,000 COVID-19 diagnostic kits developed by Slovak scientists arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday, July 27.
